Summer Months

We've been super busy these last few months at Elite. The summer months are always the busiest time of the year for movers for obvious reasons: no one wants to move in winter. When planning your move consider what may be the best time of year to move in your area. Sometimes you can't help but move in December, but if you have to, we can be there to ensure the move goes smoothly and you aren't left waiting in the cold too long (literally).

We have a new Facebook Order Tracker. It will still work the same, but now, it just looks a little· better. You can check it out on our Facebook page. The tracker works exactly like a UPS shipment tracker would work. We give you an order number and you can see exactly what stage your move is in. Our Facebook Tracker is updated daily, so you come back to our Facebook everyday to check the order and check out some of our helpful tips and discounts.

When you tape a box closed, put string underneath the tape and leave a bit of the string hanging out. When you arrive at your new place and you want to unload the box, you simply yank the string and it will rip through the tape -- and voila, the box opens

The moving industry has gone relatively unchanged in the wake of the social media revolution. Moving is still the same process: hire a mover and have them move everything across the country. Until now, there just wasn’t a lot that social media could do to expedite the process. Elite Moving & Storage has changed that with the new Facebook Order Tracker. Customers no longer have to call daily, or hourly, to find their shipment, instead they can go to the Elite Moving & Storage Facebook page and type in their 6 digit order number. Just like tracking a package in the mail, Elite updates the shipment status frequently with each stage of the moving process.

Utilizing social media is imperative for good customer service in the digital world, and allowing customers to track their order, even at odd business hours, is something that Elite Moving & Storage strives for. Elite might be on the forefront of the social media boom for the moving industry, having dabbled with other social media options in the past, including a YouTube channel and a Twitter Order Tracker. The Twitter Order Track was not as “on demand” as the Facebook Tracker, tweets would be sent out with the tracking number and estimated time of arrival when the truck left for its’ final destination, and that left customers waiting for the final step of the process, instead of staying informed throughout. “We realized the customers’ wanted to know where their shipment was during every stage of the process - from pickup to drop off,” said social media coordinator Kelson Fagan. “Utilizing a web based tracking system and the popularity of Facebook, we are able to communicate with our customers on a platform that they are constantly using.”
